Maanexit Hotel, Main St.  1960's
The Maanexit Hotel taken sometime in the mid-sixties.

The building was located on Main St. in the block between School and
High Streets. This is one of the rare instances in which Dunkin' Donuts
actually represents an improvement over the local architecture which it
replaced. In the building's final years, there was a coffee shop
restaurant on the street level in the left-hand side of the building.
The other side was sometimes rented by political parties for campaign
headquarters purposes around election time. There was once a small
bowling alley on the School St. side. Note the reflection of the Vernon
Drug sign in the window. The bowed side of the building is not lens
distortion. it actually leaned like that. (Jay Lamy, photo)
